The calcium deposits induce inflammation in the joint, which can cause cartilage within the joint to break down. The disease can take a few different arthritis-related forms:• Acute arthritis often called pseudogout• Chronic rheumatoid arthritis-like inflammatory arthritis• OsteoarthritisPseudogout occurs in about one-quarter of all CPPD cases and an osteoarthritis-like disease occurs in about half of all cases. However, many people with CPPD crystal deposits have no joint symptoms at all. Women and men get the disease equally, and its frequency dramatically increases with age. Although there is no cure for CPPD deposition or pseudogout attacks, medications can relieve the pain and stiffness associated with the disease. Surgery can restore function and relieve pain in seriously affected joints. less

About 90% of patient with primary gout are man, ussualy over 30 years of age. Post inflammation occurred desquamation and pruritis. Pain relieved by rest, morning stiffness brief and articular, pain is generally described as a sharp ache, or a burning sensation in the associate muscles and tendons. Osteoarthritis commonly affects the hands, feet, spine, and the large weight bearing joints, such as the hips and knees. Diagnosis is made with reasonable certainty based on history and clinical examination. X-rays may confirm the diagnosis. Radiographs may reveal narrowing of the joint space, osteophytes, increased density of sub chondral bone and bony cysts. Treatment generally involves a combination of lifestyle modification (exercise and education (weight loss)), and analgesics. Maintaining normal Vit D may reduce the ocurrence and progression of osteoarthritis. less
